Confused About What to Eat?
Let the Word of God Be Your Guide
Even though health and wellness information is more accessible now than at any other time in history, Christians are more confused than ever about how to care for our temples.
Even though we can access data on any health topic with the click of a mouse and a few key strokes, studies show that by “2025, chronic diseases will affect an estimated 164 million Americans – nearly half of the population”.
To offer insult to injury, the CDC describes chronic diseases as “the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems”.
Maybe that has you wondering… why is there such a huge disconnect between health information and health transformation?
We all know that diet and lifestyle is highly correlated to health or the development of disease, but with the seemingly limitless dietary options, which one is right for you?

Are You Unknowingly Sacrificing Your Health?
As Christians, we believe that we serve the true and living God, yet somehow we are just as sick as everyone else.
We make a faulty assumption that if we are suffering, then God must have ordained that sickness for us. However, chronic illness is not always God’s divine will. Many times, we are just reaping what we have sown.
We’ve missed something very obvious as a Church community.
There is a link between our obedience to God’s commands and our physical health.
He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.” Exodus 15:26 NIV
If the children of God want to claim the healing promises of God, we must first follow the guidelines that he’s laid out in His Word.
We cannot violate God’s principles and expect to claim God’s promises.
However, when we live in accordance with His Word, then we CAN expect to receive His blessing and for Him to fulfill His promises. This principle applies not only to how we live, but also how we eat.
While some diseases are unavoidable, others may be the direct result of our own poor diet and lifestyle choices.
